This student is requesting to use your organization and expertise to complete a required course (KHP 577: Practicum in the Kinesiology and Health Promotion) at the University of Kentucky. KHP577 is a class in which students must complete a total of 300 contact hours of “real life” experience in a career field related to their exercise science major. The specific schedule (hours and days per week) should be worked out between you and the student. The hours should be based upon your needs and the student’s availability. Students may have more than one practicum location at a time in order to complete all required hours. Our goal is for the student to have a beneficial learning experience and to be of value to your facility or program while they are there. The following document outlines the responsibilities of the supervisor and the student to facilitate a productive practicum experience for all stakeholders.
