This Agreement provides for the implementation of a Legality Assurance System (hereinafter referred to as the “LAS”) intended to guarantee that all timber and derived products covered by this Voluntary Partnership Agreement (hereinafter referred to as the “VPA”) placed on the domestic market and exported from the Cooperative Republic of Guyana (hereinafter referred to as “Guyana”) are imported, harvested, produced, transported and sold legally.
