ISSUE & EXPECTED OUTCOME: In March 2015, Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) awarded $58.4M to a project entitled Canada’s Genomics Enterprise (CGEn), for investment in the next generation infrastructure for Genomics research. The project is a partnership between the University of British Columbia, the University of Toronto, and McGill. Approval is sought for: The inter-institutional agreement with UBC and U of T and delegation of signing authority to the Vice-Principal (Research and International Relations); McGill’s share of the award is $24.9M. The supply contract with Illumina, the vendor of sequencing equipment for a total value of $9,309,462 and delegation of signing authority to Vice- Principal (Administration and Finance) to sign this supply contract, by November 30, 2015 in order to take advantage of a preferential exchange rate offered by Illumina.
