FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: FEBRUARY 13, 2013 Plans to modernize Tillsonburg Public Library finalized with sale and lease agreements NEWS The Town of Tillsonburg and the County of Oxford approved at separate Council meetings this week an agreement that will see the County purchase the Tillsonburg Public Library building while the Town of Tillsonburg retains ownership of the land on which it sits. Oxford County Library will purchase the Tillsonburg Public Library building for $467,000 and invest in all renovations to the building. The Town of Tillsonburg will lease the library land to Oxford County Library for a period of 20 years at a nominal fee With the agreement in place, Oxford County Library can finalize the engineering and design changes needed to modernize Tillsonburg’s library, including the addition of a state-of-the-art technology lab, more youth-friendly features, a study area, and more accessible design features that remove physical barriers to shelving and washrooms.
