Activities of maintenance and construction contractors often pose risks to people's health and safety and to property. Contractors must clearly understand their roles and responsibilities in undertaking contracted work on behalf of the Department and for ensuring the safety of their employees, Department staff that may visit the site, the general public and the surrounding property.
