Note to the academic supervisor: It is required that you contact the onsite supervisor before the internship starts (or at the very beginning) and again at the conclusion of the internship. Your role is to ensure that this is a fruitful experience for the student and also that the onsite supervisor finds the work of the student satisfactory. You are responsible for assigning a grade (credit/no-credit) at the completion of the internship. This grade will be determined in consultation with the onsite supervisor.
