The goal of OceanPC is to promote the exchange of free software (and the ideas contained therein) that will in turn help promote the free exchange of oceanographic data within the International Oceanographic Data and Information Exchange (IODE) system. The ideas within the programs are possibly more important than the programs themselves, therefore OceanPC must only be provided along with the corresponding source code whenever possible.
