KIWANIS FOUNDATION OFFERS DOWNTOWN BUILDING FOR SALE OR LEASESale or Lease Agreement • February 15th, 2017
The Kiwanis Club of Ann Arbor Foundation, Inc., has listed its building at the corner of First and Washington for sale or lease in a move which may preserve the downtown presence of the popular Saturday morning merchandise sale at its First and Washington location. The Foundation has entered into a contract with Jim Chaconas of Colliers International to explore the possible sale of the building and property, or alternatively, the leasing of all or portions of the building. The decision between the two alternatives will be driven by what course would best help the Foundation to serve the community. The possibility of leasing opens up the potential for maintaining a presence downtown for the Thrift Sale, while enabling an expansion of the Foundation’s Kiwanis Center West (KCW) location on Staebler Road off Jackson Road in Scio Township. Sales will continue at both locations for the immediate future, however, as the process of selling or leasing is anticipated to take several months.
