Forms of Buy-Sell PlansBuy-Sell Agreement • May 16th, 2012
Contract Type FiledMay 16th, 2012This is the simplest of buy-sell plans, in which the company agrees to purchase (or redeem) all of the equity of a departed owner and, conversely, all owners agree only to sell their interests to the company. In this structure, the company is the owner and beneficiary of the life insurance. Using high cash value life insurance, the plan can have little or no cost to the company; using 100% cash value products, the company can realize a gain on the books from the insurance.
