The Parties are committed to establishing consultation processes that will create greater certainty for SFN, British Columbia and the oil and gas industry, fulfill the Crown’s duty to consult and, as appropriate, accommodate by avoidance or mitigation of any potential adverse impacts on the exercise of SFN's rights underTreaty No. 8 as recognized and affirmed by section 35(1) of the Constitution Act, 1982, and identify opportunities, as may be appropriate in the circumstances, for the Crown to address other interests and concerns o f SFN.
