This agreement originated as the P-4 Agreement (P-4), an FTA among Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, and Singapore, intended to be expanded to include additional members from both sides of the Pacific. i Like its predecessor, the P-4, the TPP aims for “geographic diversity, a high-standards agreement, and a model for expansion.”ii
