THIS AMENDED AND RESTATED INVESTMENT ADVISORY AND SERVICE AGREEMENT, dated and effective as of the 1st day of January, 2010, is made and entered into by and between THE GROWTH FUND OF AMERICA, INC., a Maryland corporation, (the “Fund”), and CAPITAL RESEARCH AND MANAGEMENT COMPANY, a Delaware corporation (the “Investment Adviser”).
