AGREEMENT, dated as of July 12, 2017, among Deutsche State Tax-Free Income Series, a Massachusetts business trust (the “Trust”), on its own behalf and on behalf of each of the Funds listed on Schedule I to this Agreement (each a “Fund” and together, the “Funds”), and Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Administrator”), effective with respect to each Fund as of the date set out with respect to such Fund on Schedule I to this Agreement, as may be amended from time to time.

This Amendment to the Sub-Administration and Sub-Accounting Agreement is made as of June 29, 2018 (the “Amendment”) by and between State Street Bank and Trust Company, a Massachusetts trust company (the “Sub-Administrator/Accounting Agent”) and Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Administrator”). Capitalized terms used in this Amendment without definition shall have the respective meanings ascribed to such terms in the Agreement (as defined below).
