The Owner may assign this contract before the Income Date, but the Company will not be bound by an assignment unless it is in writing and has been received by the Company. The assignment will be effective as of the date the appropriate form was signed. We assume no responsibility for the validity or tax consequences of any assignment. If the contract is issued pursuant to a Qualified Plan, it may not be assigned, pledged or otherwise transferred, except as may be allowed under the Plan. If the Owner makes an assignment, the Owner may have to pay income tax.
