This Amendment to the Custodian Contract is made effective as of July 1, 2001 by and between Legg Mason Charles Street Trust, Inc. (previously called LM Institutional Fund Advisors II, Inc., hereinafter the “Fund”) and State Street Bank and Trust Company (the “Custodian”). Capitalized terms used in this Amendment without definition shall have the respective meanings given to such terms in the Custodian Contract referred to below.

(“Manager”), a Maryland corporation, and Brandywine Global Investment Management, LLC (“Adviser”), a limited liability company organized under the laws of Delaware, each of which is registered as an investment adviser under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, as amended.
