AMENDMENT (the “Amendment”) made this 1st day of October, 2012, to the Amended and Restated Advisory Agreement dated September 30, 2008, between John Hancock Variable Insurance Trust (formerly, John Hancock Trust), a Massachusetts business trust (the “Trust” or “JHVIT”) and John Hancock Investment Management Services, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (“JHIMS” or the “Adviser”). AGREEMENT made this 13th day of July, 2012, between John Hancock Investment Management Services, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (the “Adviser”), and RS Investment Management Co. LLC, a Delaware limited liability company (the “Subadviser”). In consideration of the mutual covenants contained herein, the parties agree as follows:
