THIS SIXTH SUPPLEMENTAL INDENTURE (this “Sixth Supplemental Indenture”), dated as of September 18, 2014, between PIEDMONT NATURAL GAS COMPANY, INC., a corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of North Carolina (the “Company”), and THE BANK OF NEW YORK MELLON TRUST COMPANY, N.A., a national banking association duly organized and existing under the laws of the United States, as successor to Citibank, N.A.
