This First Amended and Restated Employment Agreement ("Agreement"), dated this 26th day of February, 2007, is entered into by and between Alpha Natural Resources Services, LLC, on behalf of itself and its parent entities, subsidiaries and affiliates as may employ Employee from time to time (collectively, the "Employer"), and Kevin S. Crutchfield ("Employee") and is effective as of January 5, 2007 (the "Effective Date").

SIXTH SUPPLEMENTAL INDENTURE (this “Supplemental Indenture”), dated as of January 10, 2007, among Alpha Natural Resources, LLC (or its permitted successor), a Delaware limited liability company (the “Company”), Alpha Natural Resources Capital Corp. (“Alpha Capital” and, together with the Company, the “Issuers”), the existing Guarantors (as defined in the Indenture referred to herein), Wells Fargo Bank, National Association, as trustee under the Indenture referred to below (the “Trustee”), and the following wholly-owned indirect subsidiaries of the Company (the “Guaranteeing Subsidiaries”): Palladian Holdings, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, and Palladian Lime, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company.

THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO THE THIRD AMENDED AND RESTATED EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT (the "Amendment") is made and entered into as of February 26, 2007, by and among Alpha Natural Resources Services, LLC, on behalf of itself and its parent entities, subsidiaries and affiliates as may employ the Employee from time to time (collectively, the "Employer"), and Michael J. Quillen (the "Employee").
