As Chair of the Safer Lancashire Board, I am pleased to present the Community Safety Agreement for 2008-11, which has been drawn up and prepared by all the partners on the Board to continue our progress to achieving our vision ‘To make Lancashire a place where people are and feel safe.’ The Agreement has been informed by the findings of the Lancashire Strategic Assessment and the strategic assessments of all fourteen Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships which were undertaken in 2008 and include consultation with the communities of Lancashire. It also builds upon the successes we have already achieved for local communities, including significant reductions in burglary, criminal damage and accidental fires in dwellings. All of which have been brought about by effective partnership working.

Lincolnshire is in the East Midlands region. It is a two-tier authority area comprised of Lincolnshire County Council and seven districts; Boston Borough, City of Lincoln, East Lindsey, North Kesteven, South Holland, South Kesteven and West Lindsey. Lincolnshire’s population currently stands at an estimated 743,400 people and is projected to increase by 35,900 by 2024. The proportion of people over 75 years of age is projected to increase by 95% between 2014 and 2039.
