Your fitting may begin at the time of the initial exam, with the doctor transposing your glasses prescription, in order to determine the contact trails needed for evaluation.

Contact lens fitting is an additional fee to the comprehensive eye exam which includes a glasses prescription. The contact lens fitting includes determining the proper lens type and fit for your eyes based on results of the topography (curvature map of the cornea), determining the correct contact lens prescription (which may be different from glasses), checking vision with the lens and the fit (the centration, movement, and rotation of the lens). Additionally, and most importantly, you will be assessed and monitored for health issues associated with contact lens wear, and any follow-up appointments for 60 days.

Contact lenses are medical devices, which have advantages as well as limitations. Contact lenses are not suitable for wear in all conditions or for all patients. It is important that you exercise good judgment while wearing and caring for your contact lenses. To ensure your safety and eye health, annual eye examinations, refractions, and contact lens fittings are in your best interest and required. Eye health problems associated with contact lenses can arise without noticeable symptoms of pain or blurry vision. However, if you do experience pain, blurred vision, redness, discharge or any unusual symptoms before your next scheduled appointment, remove your contact lenses and report to us immediately, as these are not normal experiences in wearing contact lenses. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to infection, damage to your eyes, and loss of vision. We want your contact lens experience to be a successful one, so please do not hesitate to ask questions.
