The Integrated Support Service for Persons with Severe Physical Disabilities (ISS) aims at strengthening support for persons with severe physical disabilities and relieving the stress of family members / carers through the formulation of well-coordinated care plans at both stages of pre-discharge and post-discharge from hospital and the provision of a package of home-based support services meeting their personal care, training and nursing care needs to facilitate their integration into the community. Day Care Centre/Unit for the Elderly (DE or DCU) is a type of community support services providing a range of centre-based care and support services during daytime to enable frail elders including the demented suffering from moderate or severe level of impairment to maintain their optimal level of functioning, develop their potential, improve their quality of life and to enable them to live in their own homes wherever feasible and possible. The target users of this service are those who are likely to require admission to a care-and-attention home or nursing home but whose needs can be suitably and better met through centre-based day care services and family support.

The Support Programme for Enhancing Peaceable Relationship (SPeaR) was originally named as Educational Programme on Stopping Domestic Violence (EPSDV) which is a 6-hour educational programme launched in October 2013 and is run in 5 clustersNote 1. It aims at providing an early and flexible intervention for batterers and high conflicting couples in order to prevent and stop spouse/cohabitant battering as well as to cope with the crisis arising from the violence incidences and improve the intimate relationship. Subsequent to service enhancement, the Project is renamed and additional support services are provided for children who have witnessed or been exposed to domestic violence Note 2 and victims of domestic violence, with a view to protecting children from harm. Preventive measures in heightening public awareness on intimate partner violence and dating violence are also crucial to curb the problem in the long run and are also one of the components of this Service.

The Integrated Children and Youth Services Centres (ICYSCs) with community support service scheme (CSSS) adopt a total person and community approach to meet the multifarious needs of children and youth in specific catchment areas (including five respective service boundaries2). ICYSCs with CSSS provide professional social work intervention (preventive, developmental, supportive and remedial services) in working with children and youth, including those put under the Police Superintendent’s Discretion Scheme (PSDS), arrested youth3, their peers4, their significant others as well as the community, to achieve their service objectives.
