In addition to providing mental health services to adolescents and young adults, Doorways provides training to interns who are currently studying to become counselors, social workers, marriage and family therapists, and/or psychologists. Part of this training includes sitting in on therapy sessions and observing therapists/psychologists at Doorways. If permitted to sit in on your or your minor child’s session, the intern will be observing the therapist and his/her therapeutic interventions and not the responses or reactions of you or your minor child. Allowing an intern to sit in on your sessions is completely optional and consent can be revoked at any time. If an intern is planning to observe one of your sessions, you will be made aware beforehand and given the opportunity to allow or not allow for this to occur.
