One of the projects at Mill Valley High School was to relocate the javelin runway to make room for other throwing events as well as the construction of the softball field. The only place for student-athletes to throw the javelin at Mill Valley High School would be in the southwest corner of campus. However, that area is located in a floodplain that does not allow for the District to change elevations anywhere within the floodplain. Javelin participants will need a runway that is 120-feet and a throwing sector that is 204-feet in length.
