Academic Rank definition

Academic Rank means the position held by a Faculty Member, consistent with Rule, and includes the ranks of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor.
Academic Rank means one of the following six titles: Lecturer, Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor, and Distinguished Faculty.

Examples of Academic Rank in a sentence

  • All documents maintained by the University with respect to any period of a Member’s employment with the University as a full-time faculty member, or as a part-time contract academic staff member, or as a full-time or part-time professional librarian, or as a Member with a Special Academic Rank shall be placed in the Member’s Official File.

  • An employee without Academic Rank who changes title must normally complete three (3) full years of service in the new title before being eligible to apply for promotion to the next level.

  • Academic Rank Held Points Assistant Instructors 2 Instructors 3 Assistant Professors 5 Associate Professors 6 Professors 7 Permanent Faculty Service Years: Points are 1:1 (one (1) academic year is equal to one (1) point).

  • All official documents maintained by the University with respect to any period of a Member’s employment with the University as a full-time faculty member, or as a part-time contract teaching faculty member, or as a full-time or part-time professional librarian, or as a Member with a Special Academic Rank shall be placed in the Member’s Official File.

Related to Academic Rank

  • Academic year means the period of twelve months beginning on 1st January, 1st April, 1st July or 1st September according to whether the course in question begins in the winter, the spring, the summer or the autumn respectively but if students are required to begin attending the course during August or September and to continue attending through the autumn, the academic year of the course is to be considered to begin in the autumn rather than the summer;

  • Academic Board means the Academic Board of the University College established under paragraph 13;

  • academic staff means such categories of staff as are designated as academic staff by the Ordinances;

  • Academic Unit means an Academic Department, research unit, School, non-departmentalized Faculty, ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus Division, Faculty of Medicine Division, the Fisheries and Marine Institute, the Counselling Centre, or the University Library, to which one (1) or more ASMs have their primary or sole appointment. For Faculty Members at ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ Campus. For Faculty Members in the Faculty of Medicine who are not members of a Division, the Academic Unit shall be the Faculty.
