Shift rotation shall be: Days to Graveyard Afternoons to Days Graveyard to Afternoon Where, for the purpose of utilizing daylight hours, it is agreed between the Employer and the Union to vary the starting time from 7:00 a.m. on a two shift operation each shift shall consist of seven and one half (7½) hours worked for which eight and one half (8½) hours shall be paid.

All members on the respective ‘late’ shift will revert to the ‘early’ shift for training purposes as follows: Training Hours: Days: 0800 – 1800 hours Afternoons: 1600 – 0200 hours It is agreed that the Chief of Police or designate can cancel all or part of a training day due to operational needs however members assigned to a training day will still work the hours as outlined above.
D-5 The normal hours of work on a 7½ hour tour are as follows: 0730 – 1530 Days 1530 – 2330 Afternoons 2330 – 0730 Nights The normal hours of work on an 11¼ hour tour are as follows: 0730 – 1930 Days 1930 – 0730 Nights The night shift is the first shift of the day for all scheduling purposes.
As an example, a three shift operation might appear as follows: Days 6:30 a.m. to 2:55 p.m. Afternoons 2:30 p.m. to 10:55 p.m. Midnights 10:30 p.m. to 6:55 a.m. Two ten (10) minute breaks; one prior to lunch and one after lunch, and one twenty-five (25) minute unpaid lunch break.
