Aorta surgery definition

Aorta surgery. Means the actual undergoing of surgery via thoracotomy or laparotomy to repair or correct an aortic aneurysm, an obstruction of the aorta, a coarctation of the aorta or a traumatic rupture of the aorta. For the purpose of this definition aorta shall mean the thoracic and abdominal aorta but not its branches. There must have been excision and replacement of a portion of diseased aorta with a graft.
Aorta surgery means surgery to the aorta that is medically required to treat disease of the aorta and that involves the excision and surgical replacement of the diseased aorta with a graft. The Aortic Surgery must be performed on the prior written advice of a Physician certified as a cardiovascular surgeon. Aorta includes the thoracic and abdominal aorta but does not include any of the branches of the aorta.

  • Ambulatory surgical center means any public or private State licensed and approved (whenever required by law) establishment with an organized medical staff of Physicians, with permanent facilities that are equipped and operated primarily for the purpose of performing Surgical Procedures, with continuous Physician services and registered professional nursing service whenever a patient is in the facility, and which does not provide service or other accommodations for patients to stay overnight.

  • Physiotherapist means a person who is a) duly registered with the Supplementary Medical Professions Council of Hong Kong pursuant to the Supplementary Medical Professions Ordinance (Cap. 359 of the Laws of Hong Kong) or in relation to jurisdictions outside of Hong Kong, a body of equivalent standing; and b) legally authorised for practising physiotherapy in the locality where the treatment is provided to an Insured, but in no circumstance shall include the Insured, the Policyholder, an insurance intermediary or an employer, employee, Immediate Family Member or business partner(s) of the Policyholder and/or the Insured(s).

  • Medical cannabis card means the same as that term is defined in Section 26-61a-102.

  • Toddler means a child at least one year of age but less than 2 years of age.

  • Radiation therapist means a person, other than a Licensed Practitioner or Nuclear Medicine Technologist, who applies radiation to humans for therapeutic purposes under the supervision of a Licensed Practitioner;

  • Occupational therapist means an individual who is licensed by a state to practice occupational therapy.
