AUC0-inf definition

AUC0-inf means “area under the curve,” which is a way of measuring the total amount of the active drug in a subject’s system over a period of time from administration (“0”) to the time that the drug is no longer present in the subject’s body (“infinity”). ’760 patent, col. 11, ll. 12–23.
AUC0-inf means the total area under the plasma concentration-time curve from time zero to infinity. In other words, AUC(0-inf) represents the total amount of drug delivered by the dose in question. A POSA would use Zegerid’s AUC(0-inf) data to inform their understanding of the AUC produced from hours zero to ten, and ten to twenty-four. The figures accompanying the AUC data in the Zegerid label show little absorption after hour eight. Ex. 1010 at 4, Figures. The Zegerid label also reported that, “absorption of omeprazole is rapid, with mean peak plasma levels of omeprazole occurring at around 30 minutes (range 10 to 90 minutes) after a single dose or repeated once-daily administration.” Ex. 1010 at 4.

  • Drywell means an unlined or partially lined underground pit (regardless of geometry) into which drainage from roofs, basement floors, water softeners or other non-wastewater sources is discharged and from which the liquid seeps into the surrounding soil.

  • Infiltrative surface means designated interface where effluent moves from distribution media or a distribution product into treatment media or original soil. In standard trench or bed systems this will be the interface of the distribution media or product and in-situ soil. Two separate infiltrative surfaces will exist in a mound system and an unlined sand filter, one at the interface of the distribution media and fill sand, the other at the interface of the fill sand and in-situ soil.

  • Dielectric material means a material that does not conduct direct electrical current. Dielectric coatings are used to electrically isolate UST systems from the surrounding soils. Dielectric bushings are used to electrically isolate portions of the UST system (e.g., tank from piping).
