Background Actor definition

Background Actor means actors who do not speak any words as individuals but who may be heard, singly or in concert, as part of a crowd.
Background Actor. Background Actors are performers who (i) do not play a major part in the Music Video, (ii) do not speak any words other than atmospheric words as part of a crowd, commonly known in the industry as "omnies", and (iii) do not engage in choreographed dancing or play a major part as a dancer. All individuals within the definition set forth in Paragraph 5(b) of the Agreement (“Friends and Family”) are excluded from contract coverage.

Examples of Background Actor in a sentence

  • No stunt person hired as such may be employed for Background Actor work on location except for bona fide emergencies not within the contemplation of the Employer.

  • No person having authority from the Employer to hire, employ or direct the services of Background Actors shall demand or accept any fee, gift, or other remuneration in consideration of hiring or employing any person to perform work or services as a Background Actor, or permitting such person to continue in said employment.

  • No stunt person hired as such may be employed for Background Actor work at the studio on the day he/she was employed as a stunt person on the same production.

  • Background Actors who are hired at scale, and who thereafter accept hazardous work, shall be entitled to additional compensation in an amount to be agreed between the Background Actor and the Employer (or the Employer representative).

  • If the Background Actor is not used in the production after having been selected, Employer shall be paid the agreed wage (one day or one week), provided that if the Background Actor is not available when called, no payment shall be due.

  • If the Background Actor refuses, Employer shall pay them for all time elapsed from the time the Background Actor is called until they are dismissed.
