Blocked Names definition

Blocked Names. Registry operator may offer the "Blocked Names" service, which is a registry service that allows trademark rights holders to register domain names based on the labels listed in a valid SMD issued by an ICANN-authorized trademark validator. Registry Operator must offer registrars support for the "Blocked Names" service in EPP. Domain names registered using the "Blocked Names" service must be registered through a registrar and reported to ICANN as any other transaction. The "Blocked Names" service must be disabled for a specific domain name when requested by the sponsoring Registrar. Domain names registered using the "Blocked Names" service may be activated for the purpose of displaying a web page stating that the domain name has been registered as a "Blocked Name".
