Build-Operate-and-Transfer (BOT) definition

Build-Operate-and-Transfer (BOT) means a contractual arrangement whereby the private party undertake the financing and construction of an infrastructure project and the operation and maintenance thereof. The private party operates the facility over a fixed term during which it is allowed to recover its investment, operating and maintenance expenses for the project not exceeding those proposed in bid or negotiated and incorporated in the agreement. The private party transfer the facility to the Government Agency (PHA) at the end of fixed term that shall be specified in the agreement.
