Revised Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund art.
BackgroundThe Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund (“the Trust Fund”) was endowed with its initial capital in April 2005 with the mandate to provide the financial resources necessary to fund the Caribbean Court of Justice (“the Court”) and the Regional Judicial and Legal Services Commission (“the Commission”) in perpetuity.
The Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund (the Trust Fund) was established by the CARICOM Heads of Government (the Members) in accordance with the “Revised Agreement establishing the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund” (the Agreement) effective 27 January 2004.
Despite these challenges, I am pleased to report, on behalf of the Board of Trustees, on the performance of the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund for the year ended December 31, 2018.
Caribbean Court of Justice Trust FundThe Said Court is funded through this independent body i.e. Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund.
This would allow for an effective regulatory processing of all applications taking into account the fact that RAC and SEAC meet periodically.
As described in Note 8, it was agreed amongst the Members that the Government of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas will contribute in accordance with Article IV of the Revised Agreement Establishing the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund.
The Court is primarily financed by the Caribbean Court of Justice Trust Fund (the “Trust Fund”).
