The Employer may assign scheduled call to nurses working in OR, PACU, Special Procedures (Interventional Radiology), Cath Lab, Imaging/Endoscopy, Electrophysiology Lab, Cardiac Recovery, Labor & Delivery and any new department in which scheduled call is warranted, as well as to Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (“SANE”) nurses.
In the Cath Lab unit, a minimum of one (1) regularly scheduled nurse per shift shall be granted scheduled time off.
The Standby/On Call scheduling currently occurs in the following Units, Surgical Suite, Post Anesthetic Care Unit, Ambulatory Day Care, Cardiac Cath Lab and Arrhythmia Clinic.
When a Cath Lab employee is on-call and is called in as provided for in Article 41 Section 1d.
Nurses working in GI, PACU/Recovery, Cath Lab nurses covering both the Cath lab and Interventional Radiology and the OR will be paid 5% above their base hourly rate for all hours worked in the procedural unit.
OR, PAR, OHS, and Cath Lab nurses will be paid seven dollars ($7.00) per hour for every hour of “stand-by” after being scheduled in stand-by status in excess of fifteen (15) days within one calendar month.
If a procedure in the Cath Lab starts at least one (1) hour prior to the end of an employee’s regular shift, the employee will be required to continue working for a reasonable amount of time in order to complete that procedure.
For OR, Endoscopy, Women’s and Children’s Center, Cath Lab, and PACU, Short Notice-call Shift will be paid at the rate of $8.00 per hour for standby.
The Nurse must be available a minimum of four (4) shifts per month for departments that normally close on the weekend (e.g. Endo, Cath Lab, Outpatient).
These articles (7.6 and 7.6.1) shall only apply to the following units that only float between First Hill and Cherry Hill: Cath Lab, Cherry Hill Interventional Radiology; and to these that float to all campuses: Cancer Institute, preadmission, Dialysis, Employee Health.
