The following definitions shall apply along with those hereinafter set out in division 2 of this article in the interpretation of this article: Certified lifeguard means an individual who has successfully completed an American Red Cross Senior Life Saving Course and holds a current certificate of qualification or who has had equivalent training (e.g., graduate of Y.M.C.A. course with competence as senior lifesaver).
