Challenge course definition

Challenge course means a designated area that is used for educational, team and confidence-building or recreational purposes, which area may include, but need not be limited to, logs, tires, platforms, beams, bridges, poles, ropes, ladders, nets, climbing walls, climbing towers, traverses, cables, swings, natural sites, or zip lines;
Challenge course means a course that prepares and enables specified individuals to apply for and take certification exams in Arizona without repeating an entire training course.
Challenge course means one or more events or obstacles suspended from trees, utility poles, or other structures that provide participants with problem solving opportunities for self-discovery, physical challenge, risk-taking or group support which may include but are not limited to low course activities, high course activities, climbing on walls and towers, or natural sites.

  • Challenge course elements shall give participants the opportunity to focus to learn life skills, team dynamics, practice problem solving, self-efficacy, and confidence building.

  • If tuition is not paid in full by the stated deadline, the student will be administratively withdrawn from the College Challenge course.

  • Students who meet College Challenge Program admission criteria (see page 2‐ Admission Criteria) will work with their guidance counselor or the College Challenge course teacher to complete the College Challenge Admission/ Registration Form.

  • The participant shall return the GFE to the Government within 24 hours from the date of any of the following events: when the challenge vehicle is disqualified from the Grand Challenge; when the challenge vehicle fails to complete the Grand Challenge course; when the challenge vehicle finishes the Grand Challenge course; or when the challenge vehicle is withdrawn or is otherwise eliminated from participation in the Grand Challenge.

  • If payment is not received by the deadline, the student will be administratively withdrawn from the College Challenge course.

  • My signature below indicates I understand that during my Mountain Challenge course I may be exposed to above normal risks which may include exposure to heights, moving water, underground environments, extreme weather conditions, and/or wilderness settings.

  • Students who meet scholarship requirements and successfully complete at least one College Challenge course with a “C” or better receive a one‐time scholarship in the amount of $400.
