Check Dispatcher definition

Check Dispatcher means any qualified Flight Dispatcher who has been appointed by the Company to perform a competency check on a Flight Dispatcher, in accordance with the procedures outlined in the FDM, Company Check Dispatcher Manual, and the Transport Canada Approved Check Dispatcher Manual. Check Dispatchers shall be considered to be “Project” dispatchers but will not be entitled to Project Dispatcher pay premium while conducting a competency check.
Check Dispatcher as used herein, shall mean an employee who has been designated as such by the Company to perform FAA-mandated competency checks of the Flight Dispatchers.
Check Dispatcher as used herein, in addition to the definition of a Dispatcher, means an employee who has been selected and designated as such by the Company, who is current, qualified, and actively working as an Aircraft Dispatcher in the employ of the Company. Employees designated as a “Check Dispatcher” will perform annual Competency Check functions that are required by the Company and FAA. No employee selected as a “Check Dispatcher” may hold such position unless that Employee has accumulated at least five (5) years of service as an American Airlines Dispatcher. The Company at its sole discretion will designate when the position will be filled.

Examples of Check Dispatcher in a sentence

  • Each of these persons may be qualified as both a Flight Dispatcher and a Check Dispatcher.

  • Upon completion of the additional training, the candidate may be recommended for a competency check to be carried out by a Check Dispatcher.

  • The second (2nd) competency check will be conducted by a Check Dispatcher other than the person who conducted the first competency check, unless otherwise directed by Transport Canada.

  • Flight Dispatchers assigned by the Company as a Check Dispatcher during a shift shall receive additional compensation as set forth in Section 3E of this Agreement.

  • If an Employee fails his Dispatcher initial competence check, he will be retrained on all deficient subjects and a different Check Dispatcher will administer another competence check.

  • The second competency check be conducted by a Check Dispatcher other than the person who conducted the first competency check, unless directed by Transport Canada.

  • Initial and recurrent competency checks for Flight Dispatchers shall be conducted by a Check Dispatcher nominated by the Company and acceptable to Transport Canada.

  • Flight Dispatchers are also required to pass a competency check, carried out by a Check Dispatcher and/or Transport Canada.

  • Dispatchers selected by the Director Dispatch Operations to perform in the Check Dispatcher classification will be paid will a monthly premium of three hundred and fifteen dollars ($315.00) paid on a biweekly basis.

  • Employees in the Select Position classifications except Check Dispatcher, will bid schedule lines within their assigned classification.
