Chennai Metropolitan Area definition
Chennai Metropolitan Area or “CMA” means the metropolitan area established in accordance with the Tamil Nadu Town and Country Planning Act, 1971 (Tamil Nadu Act 35 of 1972), comprising the city of Chennai and parts of the Kancheepuram District and Thiruvallur District and such contiguous area of such city as the Project Implementing Entity may, from time to time, specify by notification in the Tamil Nadu government gazette.
