Examples of Civic Leave in a sentence
Time involved in Personal Leave or time in excess of five (5) years on Civic Leave shall not be counted as creditable service for seniority purposes, and the seniority date shall be advanced accordingly.
Employees upon written request to the Chair/Director of the department in which they are employed, supported by a copy of the summons, shall be granted Civic Leave.
Work missed due to order of the court shall be regarded as Civic Leave, which shall be without loss of pay.
Employees who have an appointment or appointments totaling one hundred and twenty (120) hours or more in an academic session and upon written request to the Chair/Director of the department in which they are employed, supported by a copy of the summons, shall be granted Civic Leave.

Any employee on Civic Leave shall notify the charitable organization involved of the County's participation, and shall identify the County as his/her sponsor.
Civic Leave may be granted for essential civic responsibilities as approved by the Superintendent.
Civic Leave may be granted at the sole discretion of the Division Director, but shall not exceed sixteen hours per employee per calendar year.
Civic Leave will be granted up to a maximum of twelve (12) days to each employee per fiscal year, to be retroactive back until April Employees do not "earn" Civic Leave credits.
Employees requesting Civic Leave must submit written requests for approval.
