civil proceedings means any proceedings in or before any court or tribunal that are not criminal proceedings;
Civil union means a civil union established pursuant to Act 91 of the 2000 Vermont Legislative Session, entitled “Act Relating to Civil Unions”.
Civil War means an internecine war, or a war carried on between or among opposing citizens of the same country or nations.
Civil penalty means a penalty which is imposed on a credit provider by the operation of this Act and under which the debtor is not liable to pay to the credit provider an amount otherwise payable under a regulated contract.
civil service means the civil service of the State;
civil partner in relation to a person, means a civil partner within the meaning of the Civil Partnership and Certain Rights and Obligations of Cohabitants Act 2010, but does not include a civil partner who is living separately and apart from the person;
Complaints Procedure means the School's procedure for handling complaints from parents, as amended from time to time for legal or other substantive reasons, or in order to assist the proper administration of the School. It does not form part of the contract between you and the School. A copy of the most up-to-date procedure is on the School's website and is otherwise available from the School at any time upon request;
Civil engineer means a professional engineer registered in the state of California to practice in the field of civil engineering.
Civil action means all suits or claims of a civil nature in a state or federal court, whether cognizable as cases at law or in equity or admiralty. "Civil action" does not include any of the following:
Labor law decision means an administrative merits determination, arbitral award or decision, or civil judgment, which resulted from a violation of one or more of the laws listed in the definition of “labor laws”.
civil servant means a person who is a member of a civil service of the Province, or who holds a civil post in connection with the affairs of the Province, but does not include-
Labour Court means the Labour Court established by section 151 of the Labour Relations Act;
Dutch Civil Code means the Dutch Civil Code (Burgerlijk Wetboek).

Authorization/Representation/Letter of Agency:By entering into this Agreement, you authorize XOOM to act on your behalf under your local utility’s tariffs in accordance with the rules and regulations of the PUCO. You acknowledge that you are your local utility account holder, or a person legally authorized to execute this Agreement on behalf of the account holder for electricity service and are at least eighteen (18) years of age. You agree to authorize XOOM to obtain your credit information and you agree to authorize your local utility to release all information relating to your historical and current electricity usage, billing and payment history to XOOM or its authorized representatives. You acknowledge that XOOM has full authority to make all rates and tariff selections necessary to meet its obligations under this Agreement. You may rescind this authorization at any time by contacting XOOM. Neither your social security number, customer account number nor any other customer financial information will be released by XOOM, except where such release is required by court order or by Commission Order or Rule, without your affirmative written consent. Execution of this Agreement shall constitute authorization for the release of this information to XOOM.
High Court means the High Court of Ireland.
Civil Service Commission means the commission required under Section 5 of Article XI of the Michigan Constitution of 1963.
Legal Process means an information disclosure request made under law, governmental regulation, court order, subpoena, warrant, or other valid legal authority, legal procedure, or similar process.
Criminal proceeding means a proceeding instituted by means of the swearing of an information, the laying of a charge or the return of an indictment, before a Court of competent jurisdiction in Canada with jurisdiction to hear and determine the charges referred to therein, alleging or charging that the "Insured" has contravened the provisions of any Provincial or Federal statute, including the Criminal Code, R.S.C. 1985 ch. C-46 as amended, which creates an offence or crime and which provides for conviction thereunder, whether by way of summary conviction or indictment, and as a result of which the "Insured" is liable to be convicted, fined or sentenced to some form of imprisonment or other punishment.
Process or “Processing” means any operation or set of operations which is performed upon the Personal Data, whether or not by automatic means, such as collection, recording, organization, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, blocking, erasure, or destruction.
Claims Process means the process for Settlement Class Members’ submission of Claims, as described in Section III.
Procurement Process means the process commenced by the issuing of this Invitation and concluding upon the award of a contract (or other outcome as determined by Tetra Tech International Development) or upon the earlier termination of the process
Dispute Resolution Process means the process described in clause 9
criminal proceedings means criminal proceedings in relation to which the strict rules of evidence apply;
RFP Process or “Bidding Process” means the process governing the submission and evaluation of the Bids as set out in the RFP itself;
Italian Civil Code means the Italian civil code, as approved by Royal Decree no. 262 of 16 March 1942, as subsequently amended and supplemented;
Civil aircraft means any aircraft other than a public aircraft.
