Civil Service System definition

Civil Service System or “Civil Service12” means the Civil Service of the City, as required by this Charter and as further set forth in the Ordinances of the City.
Civil Service System means employment in government with positions filled based on merit determined by competitive examinations or screening.
Civil Service System means employment in government with such positions filled on merit as a result of competitive examinations or screening.
