cold work definition

cold work means an activity which does not produce adequate heat to ignite a flammable air- hydrocarbon mixture or a flammable substance;
cold work means work that is not capable of producing a source of ignition; (“travail à froid”)
cold work means any work process that does not produce sufficient heat to promote ignition such as painting, cleaning tanks etc.

More Definitions of cold work

cold work means a work procedure that does not generate heat and does not cause sparks or open flame, explosions or flash fires. O. Reg. 213/91, s. 63 (4).
cold work means any work where no danger exists from ignition but where other potential hazards exist or are suspected such as toxic fumes, dusts, vapours, chemicals, steam, high pressure air, water or electricity.
cold work means repair work which is carried out on an existing installation which does not contain any gas.

Related to cold work

  • piece-work means any work the pay for which is estimated by the amount of work performed irrespective of the time occupied in its performance;

  • Hot Work means the performance of welding, thermal or oxygen cutting, grinding, flame heating or any other activities of a similar nature.

  • Tenant Improvement Work means the construction of the Tenant Improvements, together with any related work (including demolition) that is necessary to construct the Tenant Improvements.

  • Digital audio-visual work means a series of related images which, when shown in succession, imparts an impression of motion, together with accompanying sounds, if any.

  • Extra Work means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.
