Compassionate Transfer definition
Compassionate Transfer means a transfer effected outside the normal Transfer Lists in response to personal circumstances which warrant relocation of an officer.
Compassionate Transfer means an employee has requested a compassionate transfer based on:
(i) compassionate – exceptional hardship; or
(ii) compassionate – pressing circumstances.

Members who receive a Compassionate Transfer must take action as necessary to enable them to return to their assigned base at the conclusion of the temporary transfer.
In the following circumstances, vacancies may be filled without posting if the posting has not been released: through the Compassionate Transfer process; as a result of job evaluation to a lower rate; when placing employees occupying surplus as a lateral transfer.
