Compensatory spousal support definition
Compensatory spousal support means any payment or payments to be made to a spouse or former spouse, or to a third party for the benefit of support and maintenance of a spouse or former spouse, and for the purpose of allocating the financial consequences that arise from the termination of the marital relationship in an action for divorce, dissolution of marriage, legal separation, or annulment; provided, however, the term does not include any cash payment made to a spouse or former spouse, or to a third party for the benefit of a spouse or former spouse, that is made as a result of a division or disbursement of property under section 3105.171 of the Revised Code or a distributive award under section 3105.172 of the Revised Code.
