Connect and Manage definition
Connect and Manage was introduced as a means of accelerating the connection of generation ahead of transmission reinforcements. Since 2010, circa. 1.77 GW of generation has advanced under the Connect and Manage incentive – with 1.14 GW of this connected in Scotland1. Under this mechanism, projects connecting under ‘connect and manage’ would be managed mainly by overload protection schemes against to mitigate any possibility of network overload.
