Contractor Status. Contractor avers that it has the background, expertise and education to provide the Services. Contractor shall be responsible for the proper performance of the Services in accordance with the terms hereof. Contractor shall obtain the necessary permits, if any, and maintain all required licenses, including but not limited to a Town business license.
Contractor Status. The District and Contractor intend that the relationship between them shall be that of client and independent contractor. None of the benefits provided by the District to its employees, including, but not limited to, worker’s compensation insurance and unemployment insurance, is available from the District to the Contractor, or the employees, or agents of Contractor. Whenever this Contract uses the words “as ordered,” “as directed,” “as required,” “as permitted,” “as allowed,” or words and phrases of like meaning, it shall be understood that the use is intended only to the extent of judging compliance with the terms of this Contract and none of these words and phrases shall imply that the District has any authority or responsibility for supervision of Contractor’s forces or operations, such supervision and the sole responsibility being strictly reserved for Contractor.
