Corrosive Material definition

Corrosive Material means pool chemicals, fertilizers, cleaning chemicals, oxidizing cleaning materials, salt, de-icing chemicals, other corrosive or oxidizing materials, pesticides, and such other materials which may cause injury to people or damage to the building, air-handling equipment, electrical equipment, safety equipment, or fire-suppression equipment, whether by direct contact or by contact via fumes or vapors, whether in original form
Corrosive Material means any material regulated as a corrosive material by the United States Department of Transportation through regulations found in 49 CFR 173.136.
Corrosive Material means any material which, when tested in accordance with the methods prescribed in the Liste des méthodes d’analyses relatives à l’application des règlements découlant de la Loi sur la qualité de l’environnement published by the Ministère de l’Environ- nement et de la Faune, has a pH of less than 2 or greater than 12.5 or corrodes SAE 1020 steel surfaces at a rate exceeding 6.25 mm per year at a temperature of 55°C; (matière corrosive)

  • Flammable means a chemical that falls into one of the following categories:

  • Radioactive Products or Waste means any radioactive material produced in, or any material made radioactive by exposure to the radiation incidental to the production or utilisation of nuclear fuel, but does not include radioisotopes which have reached the final stage of fabrication so as to be usable for any scientific, medical, agricultural, commercial or industrial purpose.

  • Substances means chemical elements and their compounds in the natural state or obtained by any production process, including any additive necessary to preserve the stability of the products and any impurity deriving from the process used, but excluding any solvent which may be separated without affecting the stability of the substance or changing its composition;

  • Radionuclide means a radioactive element or a radioactive isotope.

  • Fissile material means the radionuclides uranium-233, uranium-235, plutonium-239, and plutonium-241, or any combination of these radionuclides. "Fissile material" means the fissile nuclides themselves, not material containing fissile nuclides. Unirradiated natural uranium and depleted uranium and natural uranium or depleted uranium, that has been irradiated in thermal reactors only, are not included in this definition. Certain exclusions from fissile material controls are provided in 10 CFR 71.15.

  • Hydrofluorocarbons means compounds that only contain hydrogen, fluorine, and carbon.

  • Biological agent shall mean any pathogenic (disease producing) micro-organism(s) and/or biologically produced toxin(s) (including genetically modified organisms and chemically synthesized toxins) which cause illness and/or death in humans, animals or plants.

  • Waste Material means (1) any “hazardous substance” under Section 101(14) of CERCLA, 42 U.S.C. § 9601(14); (2) any pollutant or contaminant under Section 101(33) of CERCLA, 42 U.S.C. § 9601(33); (3) any “solid waste” under Section 1004(27) of RCRA, 42 U.S.C. § 6903(27); and (4) any “hazardous substance” under Wis. Stat. § 292.01.

  • Special form radioactive material means radioactive material that satisfies the following conditions:

  • Friable asbestos material means any material that contains more than 1% asbestos by weight and that can be crumbled, pulverized, or reduced to powder when dry, by hand pressure.

  • Contaminants or "pollutants," or words of similar import, under any Environmental Law and (c) any other substance exposure to which is regulated under any Environmental Law.

  • Pesticides means chemicals in either of the following subcategories:

  • Radioactive waste means radioactive waste as defined in Article 3(7) of Council Directive 2011/70/Euratom8;

  • Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances or “PFAS” means a class of fluorinated organic chemicals containing at least one fully fluorinated carbon atom.

  • Biological Samples means any physical samples obtained from Study Participants in accordance with the Protocol for the purposes of the Study.

  • Normal form radioactive material means radioactive material that has not been demonstrated to qualify as special form radioactive material.
