Cost of materials definition
Cost of materials means the cost of components, parts or materials which are intended for the production, manufacturing or assembling of the goods bid for and which are not produced, manufactured or assembled in the factory where the production, manufacture or assembly of such goods occurs, including freight, landing costs, port charges, import duties and other import costs of such components, parts or materials and all costs in connection with the handling and transport thereof prior to delivery at that factory;
Cost of materials means the price (including taxes actually paid by the Contractor pursuant to law upon the basis of such materials) for which such Materials are sold for cash by the manufacturers or producers thereof, or by regular dealers therein, whether or not such Materials are purchased directly from the manufacturer, producer or dealer (or if the Contractor is the manufacturer or producer thereof, the reasonable cost to the Contractor of the manufacture and production), plus the reasonable cost of delivering such Materials to the Site of the Work in the event that the price paid to the manufacturer, producer or dealer does not include delivery and in case of temporarily-installed materials, less their salvage value, if any.
Cost of materials means on a Product-by-Product basis the actual direct cost for inactive and active materials required for the manufacture of the particular Product (which for purposes of clarity shall not include handling, inspection or any other indirect charges).
