Cultural Purposes definition

Cultural Purposes means the use of Monumental Cedar and Cypress for a purpose that:
Cultural Purposes and “Monumental Cedar and Cypress” in the Definitions Chapter, and the heading before paragraph 31 and in paragraphs 31 to 33 of the Culture and Heritage Chapter.
Cultural Purposes means investigation, indexing, cataloguing or description of items for archival or research purposes; storage or other retention as part of the organised archives of a non- commercial1 public cultural or civic institution; academic or other study of items for historical, musicological or other intellectual, non-commercial public purposes; conservation or restoration; public display or exhibition; use for or in connection with any publicnon-commercial, cultural programme of performance of musical works.

  • Alternatively, Ka:’yu:’k’t’h’/Che:k’tles7et’h’ First Nations must provide written reasons to the Minister why Monumental Cedar and Cypress are not suitable and adequate for harvest for Cultural Purposes in the Maa-nulth First Nation Lands, prior to harvesting up to two Monumental Cedar and Cypress from the Power River Watershed Protected Area.
