Differential Rate definition

Differential Rate. The amount actually paid to the member, minus the cost of a substitute or, if no substitute is employed, the amount that would have been paid to the substitute. For the purpose of this definition, the substitute rate is the regular guest teacher/regular long-term rate.

  • Replacement Reference Rate means a reference rate which is:

  • SOFR-Based Rate means SOFR or Term SOFR.

  • Base premium rate means, for each class of business as to a rating period, the lowest premium rate charged or that could have been charged under the rating system for that class of business by the small employer carrier to small employers with similar case characteristics for health benefit plans with the same or similar coverage.
