Dispute Settlement Body. ’ means the Dispute Set-
Dispute Settlement Body means the body established to administer the provisions of the Protocol on Rules and Procedures on the Settlement of Disputes except as otherwise provided in this Agreement;

It is therefore one of the cornerstones of the WTO – A dispute settlement panel in the WTO is a body established ad hoc to give a ruling in a trade- related dispute between two trading nations. It issues a report, which is then adopted by the DSB, and may be appeled to the Appellate Body. – Dispute Settlement Understanding: WTO Agreement concluded during the Uruguay Round about the Dispute Settlement called ―Understanding on Rules and Procedures Governing the Settlement of Disputes‖. Essentially, when two trading nations have a conflict, the DSU steps in and attempts to resolve the issue. In sum, "there are four phases in the WTO dispute settlement process: consultations, the panel process, the appellate process, and surveillance of implementation".

  • The Council for Trade in Services or the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) may, at the request of a Member, consult with any Member or Members in respect of any matter for which it has not been possible to find a satisfactory solution through consultation under paragraph 1.

  • Nothing in this Agreement shall preclude a Party from implementing the suspension of obligations authorised by the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO.

  • The arbitration panel shall also take into account relevant interpretations in reports of panels and of the Appellate Body adopted by the Dispute Settlement Body under Annex 2 of the WTO Agreement (hereinafter referred to as "DSB").

  • This shall not preclude that either Party may maintain or increase a customs duty as authorised by the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) of the WTO.

  • Such action shall be promptly notified to the Dispute Settlement Body established under the Dispute Settlement Understanding (hereinafter referred to as "DSB"), as specified below.

  • In cases where reference to the WTO Agreement is made in an arbitration procedure under this Section, the tribunal shall consider relevant interpretation in reports of panels and the WTO Appellate Body adopted by the WTO Dispute Settlement Body regarding substantially equivalent rights or obligations of the Parties under the WTO Agreement, or any other multilateral treaty that deals with the same subject matter.

  • Nothing in this Agreement shall preclude a Party or, as appropriate, the signatory Central African States from implementing the suspension of obligations authorised by the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO.

  • In accordance with the WTO Agreement, a Party may implement any measure authorised by the Dispute Settlement Body of the WTO against the other Party.

  • Where an obligation under this Agreement is identical to an obligation under the WTO Agreement, the arbitration panel shall take into account any relevant interpretation established in rulings of the WTO Dispute Settlement Body (hereinafter referred to as "DSB").

  • The ▇▇▇ will also act as Dispute Settlement Body under this Agreement.
