Drain field definition

Drain field means a system of rock-filled trenches or beds that distribute treated effluent for subsurface dispersal into the soil. A drain field is also known as a “leach field” or “soil absorption or dispersal system”.
Drain field means a method of distributing septic tank effluent below the ground surface by means of a line or series of lines of drain tile laid on an 18 to 36 inch wide bed of stone (or other approved media), so as to allow the effluent to be absorbed into the soil.
Drain field means a system for distributing septic tank effluent beneath the ground surface by means of a line or a series of branch lines of drain tile or other methods of distribution as approved by the Health Officer so as to allow the effluent to be absorbed by the surrounding soil.
